چکیده

In this paper the actuation system, often encountered high-precision motion systems, is studied. To find out the limitations of the actuation system, a integrated electromechanical model of the amplifier, actuator and mechanics is derived. This is done in a system’s theory-approach, so that amplifier feedback circuit design can be tuned using loop-shaping techniques. Stability analysis is carried out for the amplifier feedback network design, including relevant uncertainties in the actuator under working conditions. The important limiting properties of the amplifier are discussed, and translated into constraints for setpoint design. Further, ideas for improvement of existing actuation systems are given. Electromechanical Considerations in Developing Low-Voltage RF MEMS Switches

This paper reports on the design, fabrication, and testing of a low-actuation voltage Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) switch for high-frequency applications. The mechanical design of low spring-constant folded-suspension beams is presented first, and switches using these beams are demonstrated with measured actuation voltages of as low as 6 V. Furthermore, common nonidealities such as res...

Fault Tolerant Electromechanical Actuators for Aircraft

This thesis reviews the developments in commercial aviation resulting from More Electric Aircraft initiatives. The present level of electromechanical actuation is considered with discussion of the factors affecting more widespread use. Two rather different electromechanical actuators are presented for commercial aircraft; DEAWS electrical flap actuation and ELGEAR nose wheel steering. Both proj...
